This Week, Smart Beginnings Shenandoah Valley is highlighting Generations Crossing.  Generations Crossing is a unique provider located in Rockingham County that provides both child care as well as adult care programming to families living in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. They use an inter-generational approach to ensure that days are filled with engaging activities, smiles and laughter.  With a mission to provide high quality, innovative adult and child day care for our ethnically and economic diverse community, The Center offers programs for adults who aren’t able to be at home alone during the day, as well as opportunities for the adults to interact with children infants through school age.  Promoting social, physical and intellectual well-being, adults and children receive care from nurturing and caring staff including nursing staff to assist with medical needs that may arise.  The unique approach of Inter-generational care, allows Generations Crossing to provide a positive mentor to young children, and child connection to adults, learning and building relationships together.



Generations Crossing is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services for adult and child day care. Generations Crossing is governed by a Board of Directors. The center receives funding from the United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, and is supported by additional contributions from individuals, businesses, churches and civic groups.
