Generations Crossings teachers nominated for award

Smart Beginnings Shenandoah Valley weekly highlighted center, Generations Crossing has two teachers that have been nominated for a state award from Child Care Aware of Virginia.

Child Care Aware of Virginia nominates providers from around the state to honor them for their work with children.

Stephanie Southers

Number of years caring for children: 7

I have worked with Ms. Stephanie as both a co-worker and a supervisor, and I recommend her for this award without reservation. Ms. Stephanie is one of the most genuine, patient, and kindhearted people I have ever known. The infants in our center thrive under her care. Ms. Stephanie has a wonderful team that she leads with respect and understanding. She has a wonderful rapport with the parents who are comforted knowing their babies are in such capable hands. Caring for 12 infants each day can be exhausting, but it is also very rewarding. Ms. Stephanie helps to make each day a day where each infant feels safe and secure, cared for, and loved. Generations Crossing is a better center for having Ms. Stephanie as a part of our team.

Ebony Cleveland.

Number of years caring for children: 14

Ms. Ebony is a very mindful and intentional teacher. Her patience and reflection with each child helps them to build their own sense of self-worth and esteem. Her plans and themes for her classroom may change each month, but the foundation of caring and compassion remain. Ms. Ebony is so good at helping her children to be self-aware and to develop the vocabulary to become good problem solvers. Ms. Ebony’s creative and nurturing spirit helps to create an¬†environment that supports the whole child. Generations Crossing is so fortunate to have Ms. Ebony on our team.
