Pre-Kindergarten expands in Shenandoah County, Harrisonburg City, and Staunton City

On August 4, 2016 The Governor of Virginia announced the grantee list for a state wide Mixed-Delivery initiative to public early childhood education.  How exciting it was for our area to see Harrisonburg City among the list of recipients of the grant.  But, did you know that the Valley is filled with communities that are committed to making sure that every child gets an opportunity to attend a high quality program?  Both Shenandoah County and Staunton City have committed to go ahead with the mixed-delivery approach to early childhood education.  Working with private child care providers, these three communities will be increasing the number of children in the Valley who are attending Virginia Preschool Initiative classrooms impacting 447 four-year old children throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
